I tried, I REALLY tried. I thought this would be translations of authentic Indian poetry. Oh no, totally wrong. It's just terrible writing (and by terrible I mean completely unpalatable). Paying due diligence to my lovely hard-bound antique book, I suffered through a few poems before deciding that it could in no way, shape, or form possibly authentic Hindu love poetry. I then searched for reviews here, and behold! I was right. Awful British poetry with a mildly Indian theme. Ugh. No thanks. I'd much rather read extant poetry, which I'm sure would lavish on love affairs much more appropriately (and seductively!) than this "love poetry" drivel.
