I wanted to like this more, but it seemed too close to Addie Larue. Miscommunication as a major trope really bugs me as well, so having major plot points hinge on that frustrated me. The plot is interesting and seeing the characters develop in different times and cultures is cool, it just wasn’t as strong as it could have been IMO. There was a lot of telling us that they loved each other but we didn’t really see it. Most of the glimpses into the past were of them discovering the others’ identity and subsequently killing each other. Doesn’t scream romance.
