oh my god. honestly, YA mysteries aren’t usually very good at all, but the ones I’ve recently read have been killing the game.
i loved this story so much. It’s extremely uncomfortable, but it needs to be. it’s so raw and exposed, which is what i love; there is no sugarcoating.

sadie hurt me. she was a main character that we could connect with on a personal level, and she isn’t like any YA protagonist who does dumb shit and is always annoying. she owns this story and tells it like she means it.

i thought the switch between Sadie’s POV and west McCray’s true crime podcast documenting sadie’s story was genius. it set the mood and made everything even more intense, watching him trace Sadie’s steps. we are just hoping for him to understand, but he’s not fast enough to save her. goddamn that hurt me.
