The Other Side of Silence: A Memoir of Exile, Iran, and the Global Women's Movement by Mahnaz Afkhami

She writes with honesty of her experience, and provides fresh (at least for me) perspective and insights. I had no idea the Iranian women's movement had made such inroads, especially in those days. I also found it interesting (and shameful) that women from the West made erroneous assumptions about Iran and women of other cultures.

Overall a great read. Thank you, Mahnaz Afkhami.
