every time i wasn’t reading this book, i was thinking about it. this series really impacted the way i feel about fantasy genre. it was so hard for me to finish because i wanted to know all the answers and how on earth this could possibly end but i also never wanna leave that universe. so much going on here. the rain bomb scene at tikany may be the best scene i’ve read in a book?? at least in a very long time. such a beautiful heart wrenching moment in time. a lot of them made a lot of decisions that made me want to shake them and yell and cry but they are also the loves of my life so. i find the loyalty and duty to family to be the most difficult concept for me in this series, but i keep having to remind myself i didn’t grow up like they did made for war. the hesperians presence is also such a fantastic metaphor for colonization and US/UK colonialism and agh.
