there is a few racist remarks in this book, i think due to when it was written, but if i’m remembering correctly i think it amounted to 4. the edition i read was the original text but they definitely could have been cut out without affecting the story in a edited version.
it’s a sad story and makes you reflect on how mental health was treated in the 1950/1960s.
