Oh Riley! We see snip bits of his personality throughout the first 3 books in the series but seeing who he was, his heart and watching that get smashed to bits and rearranged for his new normal was rough. Riley seems all sweet and innocent in previous books but like every character Chelsea writes, there are layers especially with his new reality. Obviously, he’s not the same guy he used to be. Lexi’s faith, patience, and nonsense approach with him during a time that he’s pushing everyone away in was miraculous. Throughout the first three books its been hinted at that he has a crush on Lexi but now we get to see their story unravel. We also get to learn more about Lexi’s guarded walls. Things she’s never discussed with the girls but she talks to Riley about it. I love the progression of Lexi and Riley’s relationship. Watching Lexi figure out how she felt for him 😭 was rough. But I loved the feel good story of Riley working his ass off for a comeback. We get to understand more about amputees, a general understanding on how they maybe feeling afterwards, more specifically an amputee who used to be an athlete. We get to learn more about the highs and low affects of the accident, we get to see brother/sisterhood rally around him. Alongside with the impact of people’s stares and words post amputation. I can’t wait to read coach saunders book next 🥰
