Seven Years of Darkness by You-Jeong Jeong
3.0
I really loved You-Jeong Jeong's other novel, The Good Son, and I enjoyed this as well, just not as MUCH as The Good Son. It was definitely a well-plotted thriller, with interesting characters - though a very well-defined villain. The story was also set up in an interesting way, with the narrator reading the novelization of a traumatic event in his childhood written by another character, and switching between the points of view. It worked quite well. It was basically getting two books in one.
Read this if you like grey morality, family dramas, high-key villains, and ghost stories.
