mysterious tense slow-paced

4.0

This is probably my favorite installment in the series thus far. I enjoyed the twists and turns, and the dramatic irony as you saw the investigators going after the red herrings.
One thing I definitely didn't really like.
Why'd they have to kill Heng??? There was literally no reason he had to die, it doesn't really make a much of a difference to the plot and it's not at all a crucial decision. Like, did the author just decide to kill him because he wanted to tug on the heartstrings a bit? Are we allergic to happy endings here?
