Remarkably Bright Creatures
by Shelby Van Pelt
Remarkably Bright Creatures is told from three points of view: an octopus living in a tank at an aquarium who is on a mission to adventure outside his tank; an elderly woman (who cleans the acquarium) dealing with loss and the dealings of life as one grows old; and a young man who is on a mission to find his father and ends up in the small town where the aquarium is located. While at first this seemed rather odd, the story of their three lives really starts to come together. Overall, it’s a wonderful story about life, grief, and family. As an added bonus, someone gets stranded on the side of I5 in Redding.
