King of the Wind: The Story of the Godolphin Arabian by Marguerite Henry

5.0

The illustrations in this book. UGH. The only thing that could make them better is if they were in color and I could see them in all their original glory. The story of Agba and Sham is a good one, surprisingly respectful of a non-white, non-Christian setting, especially for the time period in which this book was written. The depiction of the horses is gorgeous and majestic.
