NOW LISTEN! HEAR ME OUT!
irl, this relationship would have me slightly weirded out.
the co-dependency, the dropping everything you’ve been working towards to be with the love of your life. all slightly… toxic. unhealthy.

BUT IN A BOOK? GIVE IT TO ME. i love when two main characters fall in love without even realizing it, i love watching it smack them, and i love the DRAMA.
add in a single dad? a down-on-his-luck librarian? a little girl who has them both immediately wrapped around her little finger? GIVE IT TO MEEEEEEE!
took away 0.5 because genuinely Rowan leaving the life he was building was a bit… sudden and so was the marriage, but it’s fiction, let me have fun and giggle and kick me feet okay???
BUT ALSO
“You’re a perfect baba” GOT ME SO GOOD I WAS NOT PREPARED
