I have to give one thing to the author - I laughed when
Rosalie said “I bet you thought I was a corpse my  husband propped up in the window to scare the motel guests.”
She got me there for sure!! This book definitely has Psycho and Rear Window vibes (more of a tribute than a ripoff).

The ableism and saneism in this book were THICK. Woof.
I guess Rosalie’s internalized ableism was understandable to a degree, and it got much better once she treated her depression. And Nick pretty much viewed her as capable the whole time. But it still made me cringe.

What was inexcusable though was
the whole “Claudia tried to kill all these people because she’s bipolar” thing. Gross and unacceptable.

Overall I felt like the book was corny and often forced. I definitely guessed the “big twist” in the epilogue but not some of the ones in the middle, like
that Claudia was the mistress.
So it was a mixed bag. But overall I don’t recommend it.
