Maybe it’s related to my love of Nancy Drew, but my favorite kind of mystery plots always seem to involve female amateur detectives who are far better at investigating than the actual police. Throw in the British banter, a slew of lovable characters, and dash of espionage and this makes for a fun read. I chose to go back and start the series from the beginning after initially reading the fourth book, and even with knowledge of how some character relationships will play out, this was enjoyable from start to finish. It’s the kind of light, easy mystery that is a definite pick me up after long stretches of darker thrillers.
