Fly By Night by Frances Hardinge
4.0

You know you're in for an adventure picking up any of Frances Hardinge's books and Fly By Night is no exception! Brilliantly written with the typically off-the-wall sense of humour and crazy imagination that pervades all her books, this one was slightly less...shall we say 'weird'? than some of the others like The Lie Tree and A Face Like Glass, simply because it was set in a world that roughly equates to ours. It had a number of similarities in the politics and way the characters are written to Terry Pratchett's Discworld so any of his fans would definitely love Fly By Night.

Needless to say, I've already purchased her new book 'Deeplight' without even reading the blurb - now it's just a choice as to whether I read that or the sequel to Fly By Night first!
