Maybe my expectations were a little high, but this retelling fell flat for me... There wasn't a lot to the story. Very little backstory, next to no character development, the entire storyline seemed rushed as pivotal plot points were left out.

It pains to say I was disappointed because the story of Beauty & the Beast was my favorite Disney movie as a child.
