The Marriage Policy by Riley Hart
4.0
emotional funny hopeful fast-paced

The Jilted Exes Club is such a great concept, and once again—Malcolm? What a jerk. Donovan deserved better, and luckily, he had Eric. These two have been best friends for years, and their bond is strong, even a bit too co-dependent at times. But that’s what makes this story work so well.

The marriage of convenience setup pushes them to see what everyone else already knew—they were basically in a relationship. Their dynamic is soft, caring, and full of little everyday things that show how much they mean to each other. No forced drama, just a slow and sweet shift from friends to lovers.

Eric's bi-awakening is handled with care, and it’s clear he's somewhere on the demi spectrum. That emotional connection with Donovan was already there, and watching him figure that out felt very real. Their intimacy fits who they are—even if all the “husband” talk got a bit repetitive for me.

This story is low angst, full of warmth, and a solid addition to the series. I’m already excited for Anthony’s book—there’s definitely more going on with him.
