The Assassin's Blade by Sarah J. Maas
4.0

I read this book 3rd in the series. I enjoyed learning the background of Celaena as it was hinted at multiple times in the first couple of books. I also enjoyed that it was written in a short story form with her adventures.

If wondering if this book should be read 1st or 3rd, I think you would be happy either way, however, I did enjoy back tracking after the start of the series and would probably recommend this for others as well.

BIG SPOILER IF READING THIS BOOK 1ST IN THE SERIES.
As I did enjoy the book, and did enjoy Sam as a character, I felt disappointed that I didn’t get more of Sam’s character development, especially, after knowing how his death impacted Celaena in the next couple of books. It will be easy to move on from Sam as I continue reading the series, but I am unsure if that is a good or bad thing. Oh well, I guess we will see.
