“This could only interfere with my other ambitions, such as achieving enlightenment and being a fun girl”
I hate that I relate to Frances bc I’m pretty sure she’s not supposed to be likable. There is something about the hunt to be a good person even when you don’t know what a good person is that is just compelling.
Definitely a book that made me think and forced some introspection. I found myself rooting for the characters even if they were not the best people. You just want them to get it right. I think part of that is bc I wanted the self validation- if I am not a good person can I become one?
Think I’m a fan of Rooney now.
