Wow. How do I say this nicely…. These were quite possibly the worst main characters I’ve ever encountered. Jax and Aubrey falling deeply in love might be inevitable, but what they really needed was therapy. Multiple times a week. In different states. With a new therapist because the one they had was not helping lmao.

I’ll try to keep it vague and non spoilers- But the last 100 pages seemed to last forever. I don’t understand why Jax had to be so cryptic all the damn time. It wasn’t even miscommunication at that point. Jax was just an a-hole 98% of the time. Maybe I’m just a petty grudge holder, but I don’t think I could have forgiven Jax for literally anything he did in this book. Starting with the snowball fight in their youth. I would have decked him in the face not even three chapters in.

The book has potential. So by all means please read it. I can see why some people love it. Once you finally memorize all the J names (Jay Jax Jett) there was plenty of things to like about the book. The tension was insane and it had plenty of spice to keep things interesting between all the angst. The friendships were incredible. There was no shortage of interesting side characters. And despite all the bickering, lies, and more bickering there’s a HEA! So it has everything you need to be satisfied.

There is themes of domestic abuse so be sure to check for triggers before reading and proceed with caution. If you’re feeling up to it then buckle up, give it a read, and let me know what you think!
