"Nothing moved except the mirage."
This is such a harrowing, yet powerful story. Minor Detail made me feel mad, sad and hopeless all at the same time. Shibli does such a wonderful job of using the same elements to tie our narrators stories together, from a dog howling, to the smell of petrol and soap and chasing something that isn't there. This is made all the more unsettling by how detached the narrators are to what is going on around them.
Minor Detail is something that will stick with me. It shows the suffering and oppression is not over and we must continue to fight for a free Palestine.
