The Unseelie Prince by Kathryn Ann Kingsley

4.0

I haven't been so conflicted in a while, but, in a good way? This book challenges your perception of good and evil, black and white. The prose is often exceptional, and I found myself really moved by some of the friendships. Some really unique and refreshing character and monster descriptions—not your typical fantasy elf, dwarf, halfling, and dragon. It feels like a true, breathtakingly gorgeous yet deadly depiction of the Unseelie/Seelie Court(s), which I find often subdued in many modern retellings.

That being said, definitely check your CWs. Gore (sometimes involving children) and dubious consent/non consent (thankfully never involving children) abound.
