Cosby continues to blow me away. I was able to meet him at an author event for the release of this book (time got away from me so I didn’t pick it up til a few days ago) and he was awesome. Extremely down to earth and I’m mad at myself that I didn’t get a photo with him.
I will say this book didn’t grab my attention right away like his previous books, but once I got to the halfway point it finally pulled me in. He always manages to write the south in a way that makes it feel like a real place with grit, and not big city-country music-glamour. These are people who may be seen as struggling, but they make do with the family they have. They have history.
I kinda guessed the climax, but I was shocked at the whodunit reveal. Looking back, Cosby left little tidbits that hinted at the character’s reason for their behavior.
Excited for the next one.
