I've been eagerly anticipating this second installment of Nora Kelly since I've read ARC reviews months ago. However, I was deeply disappointed. The bad guys are caricatures and the hunt for lost gold has been done to death. I had some trouble keeping Nora and Cory apart and the story was so mind numbingly boring that I almost gave up, even though I had it on audio. I think Douglas Preston from here on will be shelved with "authors I no longer read".
