An excellent book on the practicality and theology for fighting against racism. Piper begins the book with his own confession of growing up with racism in his heart in South Carolina in the 1960s. Then, he shows how the blood of Jesus unites people from all nations as God's children when they accept his invitation to salvation. The middle of the book focuses of several passages of scripture that show just how sinful racism is, and how the gospel turns it on its head. Jesus crossed the lines of eternity and immortality into our finite and immortal world for the sake of sinners. In the same way, if the gospel has truly transformed us, will we not be willing to cross any cultural barrier for the sake of showing God's glory through a unified, diversified church? Piper ends again on a practical note by addressing interracial marriage and prejudice. I recommend this book to anyone willing to look at their own lives and how they think about race. God is glorified when we embrace His vision for the Church...including people from every race, tribe, nation, and tongue.
