This graphic novel follows our main characters  Nimona and Ballister Blackheart. Blackheart is deemed a villain by the institute and Nimona his self-acclaimed sidekick, as they carry out their plans to bring down the institution and what it stands for.  This was an entertaining quick read and for 270 pages it’s packed full of mischief and chaos; I loved the continuations witty dialogue throughout, it added heart to both the story and characters. 

I will say I watched the adaptation before reading the novel and while I can tell the adaptation didn’t completely follow the novel it took inspiration and heart from the story. Though, if I’m being entirely honest i preferred the story told in the animation but that doesn’t mean this graphic novel isn’t a worthy read.
