Winterset Hollow by Jonathan Edward Durham

This book is in a genre that I rarely read, so that may be part of the reason why I didn't enjoy it. However, I won't blame all of my disappointment on that.
The first part moves so incredibly slowly. I understand that there needs to be a build-up to the big a-ha moment, but it took forever to get get there. The whole time, I just wanted it to move on. Then, when we finally know what's going on, I just wanted it to be over. It's so gruesome and so disheartening and sad and dark.
I gave it two stars instead of just one because the premise is really interesting, but I didn't like the way it was played out.
