The Lost Colony by Eoin Colfer

4.0

The second best book of the series! (Possibly tied with the first.) I wasn't sure about the whole demon thing. (It's so been done.) But these demons were actually unique. Demons are just the eighth kind of fairy. Colfer keeps finding ways to expand his already great world building.

The demon (or rather imp, he's a kid) main character N°1 was a walking clique. He's smart, but wussy opposite of all the other demons. Yet, I still found myself liking the guy.

I liked the idea of Holly and Mulch being PIs but the reality was a let down. They were so bad at it that they wound up being bounty hunters. At least that didn't last long. I liked this new section 8 of the LEP, and Foaly having a bigger budget for fancy toys.

I loved how
SpoilerArtemis stole magic! That was perfect! I can't wait to see what he does with it! (He probably doesn't have much, but with Artemis that could still be dangerous. And fun!)
That ending was the best!

The Bad:

I hated that there was another genius kid. Minerva is 12 and every bit as smart as Artemis. If she was older this book would be so much better! (Plus his crush on her would make more sense.)

Artemis Fowl 9/10 stars
Artic Incident 7 stars
Eternity Complex 8 stars
Opal Deception 8 stars
Lost Colony 9 stars
