Holy shit. Wow. Just... insane. One of the best books I've ever read. Plot twist of the fucking century. It's been a real long time since I've literally thrown a book across the room because of the intensity of emotions it made me feel. Seriously, if you're looking to read this, avoid spoilers at all costs. Don't even read The Burning God blurb because then you won't be destroyed and why else do we read books, if not to feel absolutely obliterated?

I despise some characters but the pure fucking love I feel for other characters overpowers that. Like, I've formed proper emotional attachments to Nezha and Venka. And the themes. The way Kuang covers addiction and religion. Those two themes I think are the most explored and they've definitely enhanced my worldview.

Also, I love the writing style. Especially the dialogue. There's so much cussing and the humour feels very millennial/gen z. I guess that's to be expected considering how young Kuang is. It's incredibly refreshing!

Can you tell that I can't properly form coherent thoughts because of how overwhelmed I am by this. I can't read TBG until it's available at my local library so until then I'm viciously consuming AO3 fics.
