I think some of the reviews on here are a bit harsh. I think some people do not like to think about something like this could happen. That being said I think it at times read more like a screen play than a book and I probably would enjoy more as a mini series or a film. It has an intriguing premise and some of the themes it explores are on point, the social commentary i think it could have explored in more depth and breadth. I ultimately found this book extremely readible and enjoyed the sociological analysis. Was it a great book, no not really but it did make me think. I also found it believable that they could not function without the media and social media.that they would not accept what was going on with out explicitly being told. We like to think of ourselves as intelligent, independent and capable but when I came to it they were children who didn't know what to do in the ultimate crisis without being told. I didn't like the ending at first but the more I think about it, well yes ok.
