Adulting by Liz Talley

4.0

A moving story about two women who must each face a troubled past. Chase has been to rehab more than once, but keeps falling back into old patterns. Olivia is therapist who works with clients like Chase to help them find the root of the problem, but this time her own unresolved emotional baggage surfaces making it a little harder for her to help her newest client. At first I did find it tough to connect with the two main characters but as they began to ope up to each other, they became more relatable.
This book does contain difficult topics including suicide, rape, drug abuse and sexual abuse. If you are triggered by those issues, this may not be the book for you. However, I felt Talley tackled these delicate issues in a thoughtful manner. As the story progressed, I became invested in this story and I was rewarded with a satisfying ending to this emotional tale.
