Red Country by Joe Abercrombie

Perhaps my least favourite of the First Law world stand-alones, but this is still above and beyond the calibre of most books I have read this year. Abercrombie has previously played with epid fantasy, a revenge story, a war story and now his take on a western. 

That final scene with

Shivers and Logan

was an incredible way to close off the "stand-alones". Great storyline with Cosca in this one as well, although some fans might not be happy with everything that happens in Red Country. You gotta be realistic.
