Everywhere You Don't Belong by Gabriel Bump

5.0

Really liked this. Well developed characters that I could care about, laugh out loud funny/real dialogue that didn't overwhelm the seriousness of the subject matter. Took us into South Shore Chicago, race riots/police brutality issues, poverty and hopelessness. Clear-eyed without overwhelming the reader with despair. The characters become familiar like family and you root for them. I devoured this book.
