Family of Liars
by E. Lockhart
i loved we were liars, but this fell short to me for a bunch of reasons. in some ways, i liked it because it answered so many questions i had whilst reading we were liars as to why the adults were the way they were in the original book and it gave so much insight as to why the kids were brought up the way that they were (in the show, johnny was so right when he said that growing up in that family is a generational privilege, it really is.) but i did not love this the way i loved we were liars and maybe that's because i didn't really connect with any of the sisters as i thought i would? nothing was really mind-blowing to me, the only interesting parts of the story (to me, at least) were the characters but nothing really stood out to me plot-wise.
