Petropolis by Anya Ulinich

This book left me feeling really empty, I think because there was so little reflection. While one can argue that our lives, and therefore our stories, are nothing more than a series of events, the beauty and deep interest of our lives is found in the consideration and reflection of their context. Unfortunately, Ulinich never achieved this destination. These are interesting characters leading fascinating lives and yet they left me numb.
