One Perfect Couple by Ruth Ware
3.0

The synopsis of this sounded so good and like a great summer thriller. A couple is selected to participate in a Reailty Show that takes place on a remote island. The contestants all show up as committed couples… but are they really compatible or do they need to mix and match? When a devestating storm hits the island and the contestants begin to die… it becomes clear that they may never know.

I thought this started off really strong, even until the half way mark I was pretty invested. But then it just fell apart for me. The twists weren’t at all twisty… what you think is going to happen is exactly what happens, zero whoa moments. The end just kind of was… very anticlimactic. I actually had to re-read the last two chapters 2x SURE I had missed something. I didn’t. It just fell really short.

I really wish I liked this more… This is my 2nd Ruth Ware book, and I think I may be done trying. For me, they sound so enticing but just don’t quite hit. We all have different tastes and I think she just isn’t the author for me.
