A Long Petal of the Sea
by Isabel Allende
Beautiful story of war, loss, love, family, political upheaval, and so much more spanning 60 or so years. I found the historic touch points interesting and the characters compelling. The story feels detached, such is the nature sometimes of third person omniscient writing, so I didn’t feel super invested at points. I thought the last 100 pages dragged a bit, but overall greatly enjoyed the book.
