Whisper Me a Love Song 2 by Eku Takeshima

4.0

This was a good second volume. I liked how honest and upfront Himari is about her feelings and wanting to be as clear with Yori as possible. Could we be so lucky as to have a romance manga with little to no unnecessary miscommunication?! Could we?!?!

While Himari and Yori's relationship is sweet, I'm still not attached to them as a couple. It's one of those romances where I see them and think, "oh, aren't they cute!" but not much else beyond that. I'm hoping that their relationship will gain some depth as the series continues.

One thing that bothers me is how blunt and frankly disrespectful Mizuguchi is in the last chapter. First off, asking Himari to "give her" Yori? What the actual fuck, dude? When did she become so possessive?? Second, this is your sister's best friend, couldn't you stand to be a little nicer and try to talk this out with her rather than asking her to give up on Yori? Third, how fucking selfish can you be?! It's obvious Yori loves Himari because she's discussed this before, but you're just gonna throw that away so that you can be with her?! I repeat, WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK?!

Despite my gripes, I did really enjoy this volume. The paneling and artwork/ art style were great and the characters were entertaining as well. Curious to see where things go in volume 3!
