The Empire of Gold by S.A. Chakraborty

An impressive and solid finale of a trilogy. It's packed with intricate worldbuilding, complex character dynamics, and fascinating characters. As the book progressed, I'm prompted to think deeply about the concept of family, peace, and how one shapes their identity. I'm also impressed of the character development, particularly in Nahri and Dara. While the book is more of a slow burn in the beginning - which I've grown accustomed to be a normal thing in worldbuilding-heavy novels, I really enjoyed how everything had took off after the first 100 or so pages: there are reckonings and realisations, and deeper explorations of the fictional universe. I started to realise how useful the Glossary section is and all of these clicked together in the end. I highly recommend reading the entire trilogy if you're into strong worldbuilding!
