For something so short, this story packs a punch.

I have had this one on my shelf for literal years and somehow never read it (despite loving Jason Reynolds!!). After reading everything Elizabeth Acevedo has written, I was craving another novel in verse.

I read (listened) to this in a single sitting and was captivated. I loved the format the story followed by meeting all the significant people who impacted Will but have since passed on to the afterlife. Each opening of the elevator door made my heart race and thoughts speed up.

This is the type of book that can turn reluctant readers into bookworms. For anyone in a reading slump, this will pump some life back into you. This may just make an appearance in my poetry class this year…
