The Sweetest Remedy
by Jane Igharo
When I picked this book from BOTM I was expecting it to have a little more depth. There're very few conflicts that don't get solved in a matter of pages, and very few complicated character interactions. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but that's what I was expecting when I opened the book.
And yet, I read the whole thing. It's actually a great book if you're just looking to turn off your brain. You're not worried about these characters, or that everything is going to turn out all right. You're not worried that something will go wrong with the romance. You're not worried about any of the family struggles at all, really. Since I'm personally going through a time with a lot of uncertainty, it was actually refreshing to read something that was overwhelmingly driven by certainty.
If you're looking for an easy book to read to feel removed from the chaos of your own life, I recommend this one.
