Mountain Survival by Edward Packard

Kerr said it better in her review, but here's the thing: This is not a kid's book. Nor is it really a book about mountain survival. 100% false advertising; sorry, folks. Lots of potential in this one, sure, but the central conflict in several storylines is a dude who abducts a kid, and that's not mountain survival skills so much as dumb fearmongering.
