I can’t believe that this is a debut novel! I completely understand the hype for this book and I feel like it’s going to stay with me for a while; especially the darker elements of the book (please check trigger warnings). This is definitely a book about characters - I loved reading about their complex and interwoven lives in NYC. Without giving anything away, I think it takes something special to make people fall in love with a character based on only two chapters. This wasn’t exactly the story I was expecting it to be, but I think that made it better.
