So, this book was definitely still good, but it wasn't as good as her other books I've read. I did enjoy the different idea and aspects, and it was very interesting reading a book with ghouls. However, I just felt like it was lacking something from her typical stories.
As far as characters, I didn't completely connect with any of them. They all were lacking in depth and background. I honestly just expected a lot more because her other books make you love all the characters, even the "bad" ones.
I definitely would recommend starting with one of her other books before reading this, or simply not judging her writing off of this book. I still gave it a 4 star rating because she is still an amazing author. I typically give all of her books 5 star ratings.
Genre is hard to describe with any of her books, but I'd say maybe YA Fantasy with a hint at horror/thriller.
