The Divine Comedy by Dante Alighieri

challenging slow-paced
  • Plot- or character-driven? Character
  • Strong character development? It's complicated

4.0

an extremely long, difficult, and soul devouring read, especially if you find yourself with a version that isn't annotated (bless your heart). i chipped away at The Divine Comedy for months and sometimes I had to re-read single phrases multiple times.

however, it is a worthwile read. if you can't finish the whole thing i would plead you to at least read the iconic Inferno section in its entirety.
