The plot, the concept, the world-building are all exquisite. This book was nearly perfect if it weren’t for the (rushed?) pace of the story and the lack of depth of the characters (including the MCs :’)). It felt like the romance was unnecessary and it would’ve been better if the main leads would only platonically back each other and slowly build the romance up through the series until it makes a more apt sense.

Otherwise, the utopian post-mortal world with the scythedom, the thunderhead, splatting and dying for fun, and the revival center with the best ice creams? I’d live for those.
