Darkdawn by Jay Kristoff

5.0

Darkdawn was most definitely an epic conclusion to an epic series. This book was rich with character development, plot twists, badass moments, cursing, world building, and answers to questions you may have forgotten about. It was a thoroughly enjoyable read and I have to say, Mia scares me to death but I adore her anyway. Kristoff’s writing was clever and witty as always.

My only issue with this book, without spoiling, was the ending. It felt as if it lost a bit of its suspense towards the end, and just kind of dropped off. It was certainly satisfying, but perhaps the tone became a bit mismatched. I would have preferred just a bit more struggle right there at the end. A little more grief and sadness, while still maintaining closure. Despite that, it still remained an amazing end to an amazing series. Most definitely a 5 star read!
