The Wicker King in print was unlike any other book I've ever read. There were drawings and pages changing colors as the story continued which added to the mystery and tension. The whole time I had no idea what was real and what wasn't. K. Ancrum is so good at telling a story that keeps the reader guessing and reading for more.
It had my most beloved character type, hurt and traumatized teens who love each other so deeply they would rather destroy themselves than let go. It was sad to watch them lose everything including themselves and each other. But just as heartwarming to watch them finally see each other find their way back home again. 🖤
