nssutton 's review for:
The Human Stain
by Philip Roth
after hearing john green's librarian ass-kissing speech, in which he talks about how one particular quote from this book was central to his marriage, i felt i had to read it. that quote, and the scene it's a part of, was the best part of the book. everything else just felt all over the place - well described, but hard to connect from one character to the next.
