I'm Glad My Mom Died by Jennette McCurdy

emotional funny inspiring reflective fast-paced

5.0

Eye opening and at times gut wrenching, but also somehow still hilarious. Jennette’s voice as a writer is so uniquely her, and she has a great sense of humor that helps lighten up such heavy content matter. She is a gifted writer for sure. It really was an eye opening experience into the realities that many child actors endure, as well as providing a new perspective on someone who I loved watching on TV as a kid. People often seem to forget that actors are more than just their characters and we have no idea what’s going on in their (or anyone’s) lives behind the scenes (no pun intended). It was a fast paced and extremely easy read, not because it was simple, but because it was so good I couldn’t put it down.
